These terms are the agreement between you and Evadis. We have written them to be read, not to be survived — but the section about this not being an emergency service is the one that genuinely matters.

Using Evadis means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.
In a life-threatening emergency, always call 911 first. Evadis alerts the friends you chose — it is not an emergency service.
We do not contact the police, an ambulance, a fire service, or any emergency dispatcher on your behalf. We are not a monitoring service and nobody at Evadis is watching your sessions. There is no control room. When you miss a check-in, software emails and notifies the people on your crew list, and what happens next is entirely up to them.
Evadis is designed to make an ordinary human habit — “text me when you get home” — more reliable. It is not a substitute for emergency services, a personal alarm, a monitored alert system, or your own judgement about where it is safe to be.
We will try hard to make Evadis work every time. But an alert has to travel through things we do not control: your phone, your signal, your battery, your browser, your crew's email providers, their spam filters, their notification settings, and their phones. Any one of those can silently swallow a message.
So, plainly:
This is a prototype in active testing. Features will change, and occasionally break. We would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are in the UK or the European Union, you must be at least 16. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your email secure — anyone with access to it can sign in as you.
Please keep your details accurate. An out-of-date crew phone number is a message that goes nowhere at the worst possible moment.
By using Evadis, you agree that:
Using Evadis to frighten, stalk, or control another person is the one thing we will act on immediately and without warning.
Being crew is free and always will be. You do not need an account or the app — you get an email with a link to a live status page.
You take on no obligation by being someone's crew, and you are not responsible to us or to anyone else for how you respond. You can ask to be removed at any time by using the unsubscribe link or emailing us. One honest exception, which we also state in our privacy policy: safety alerts still reach you even if you unsubscribe from routine emails, because a missed check-in is the entire reason your friend added you. If you want out completely, ask us and we will delete your details.
What you write and upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the crew on that session — that is all, and only for as long as we need to. Session photos are deleted 24 hours after the session ends.
Please read the note in our privacy policy about status links and photo links: they contain an unguessable code, but anyone the link is forwarded to can open it while it is live.
Evadis is free today. We may introduce a paid tier later — if we do, we will tell you before anything changes for you, and we will never quietly start charging for something that was free.
Being crew will be free forever. We are putting that in writing on purpose. Charging someone to be told their friend got home safe is not a business we want.
We may change, suspend, or stop parts of Evadis. If we ever shut the service down entirely, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can and will not leave you assuming a safety net exists when it does not.
You can stop using Evadis whenever you like, and delete your account and its data yourself from You → Delete account. We can suspend or close an account that is being used to harm someone, or that is breaking these terms.
Evadis is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Evadis and its founder will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss or injury arising from: an alert that was not sent, not delivered, delayed, or not acted upon; the service being unavailable; anything a crew member did or did not do; or your reliance on Evadis instead of the emergency services.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while Evadis is free, is nothing.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have by law. Some countries — including the UK and EU member states — give consumers rights that cannot be signed away, and nothing here is intended to limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You agree to cover us for claims brought against us because you used Evadis in a way these terms do not allow — for example, by using it to monitor someone without their consent.
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Evadis is operated from the United States and these terms are governed by United States law. If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings there.
If you have a problem, email us first — crew@evadis.app. Almost everything is fixable by a person reading a message.
If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top, and we will email you if the change actually affects you. Continuing to use Evadis after a change means you accept the new version.
